Professional Peer Support & Networking

19-Mar-2012

Are you a professional involved in the fields of Palliative Care, Grief, Loss and Bereavement?  If yes, then join us for an afternoon of networking and peer support.

The afternoon is also about generating discussion specific to the needs of those working in the field.

The aim of the meeting is to assist us all to:

- Build supportive networks at a grass roots level;
- Identify the demands and needs for professional workers in the fields of Palliative Care and Grief and Loss;
- Share and learn about the latest developments in the fields of Palliative Care and Bereavement.

Our proposal is to develop an ‘agenda’ and through regular meetings, those items can be addressed, either by outsourcing resources or utilizing the skills and knowledge of the participants.  The opportunity for guest speakers to present at these meetings will also be discussed to gauge the level of interest.

As part of the first afternoon, we plan a discussion around Self Care.  We have a presentation to help identify ‘Compassion Satisfaction and Compassion Fatigue’ – the two aspects of professional quality of life. Please pass this information on to other people in your network/association that may have an interest in this professional opportunity. We hope to see you there and look forward to building supportive connections with you.
