National Palliative Care Equipment Grants Scheme

This year during National Palliative Care Week, the Federal Minister for Mental Health and Ageing the Hon Mark Butler MP, announced an additional three million dollars to augment equipment loans schemes for people affected by terminal illnesses across Australia. Palliative Care Queensland (PCQ) was commissioned to distribute this funding across Queensland. Karuna is pleased to be the recipient of $19324.00 under this scheme. 

Funding will be used to purchase medical equipment and aids that have the capacity to allow more patients the choice of remaining at home or in the community setting to die. Karuna remains grateful to the National Palliative Care Program, the Commonwealth Department and Health and Ageing and Palliative Care Queensland.
